Sidetracked Magazine is an online and printed journal featuring a limited collection of personal stories of adventure travel, journeys and expeditions. The concept is simple: to capture the emotion and experience of adventures and expeditions throughout the world… and to inspire.

Entangled
Creators Tour 2023
The Sidetracked Creators Tour is a UK wide tour – an evening of exploration, films, photography, fantastic craft beer, and loads more. The tour is held at a series of unique craft beer taprooms (plus a couple of very special locations) across the UK.
I was the headline speaker for the Glasgow session of the Sidetracked Creator Tour 2023, showcasing my winter climbing short film Entangled, alongside the Entangled Behind the Scenes and a talk surrounding the project and my experience as an adventure filmmaker.
Thrawn
Volume 29
Thrawn is a film about resilient community, and the ability of snowsports to bring people together
with purpose. Like many other mountain areas across Europe, the Cairngorms are facing the impact of environmental and economical challenges first-hand to snowsports and the culture. But motivated to fight for what they have, the community are coming together to find ways to protect wintersports and the playgrounds for generations to come. The project is featured in Sidetracked Volume 29.
The Ice Mile
Volume 26
The Ice Mile is a film showing both the beauty and adventure in outdoor swimming – chasing those lower temperatures in the cooling winter, community, pushing distance and the body to its limit. The Ice Mile featured in Sidetracked Magazine as a Single Moment, with writing from Becca Harvey to accompany my photograph of her in icy waters in the Cairngorms. The shot graced the cover of the Magazine in Volume 26.
A Land For Everyone
Volume 25 | Creators Tour 2022
A skateboarding and photography film set in the Highlands of Scotland, exploring two women’s connections to their homeland, and how skateboarding fits into wild landscapes. The project is featured in Sidetracked Magazine Volume 25, and the film was selected for the Sidetracked Creator Tour 2022, where it toured the UK alongside a small selection of adventure films and speakers.
Soul Hunger
Volume 20
In Soul Hunger, Andrew Cotton shares his big-wave story, overcoming fears and injury, his relationship with Nazaré, and finding happiness through his connection with the ocean. In the Behind the Scenes we captured the production process behind the film. Both Soul Hunger and the Behind the Scenes was featured in Sidetracked Volume 20.
